Marcus D. – Lead Technician, Gate Motors & Access Control
Marcus has been with Adrian since 2016, back when most of the work was commercial access-control retrofits on Dallas warehouses. He’s the guy we send when a LiftMaster board is throwing an error code or a FAAC arm is binding mid-travel. Marcus holds factory training certifications through LiftMaster and Linear, and he’s opened enough control boxes to identify the wiring habits of seven of the nine brands we service just from the way the relay is dressed. His bench at the shop is immaculate. His van, less so. Ask him about the time a Viking operator in Sunnyvale had a spider nest shorting the transformer and he’ll give you the exact resistance reading before he tells you how big the spider was.
Luis R. – Senior Installer, Gates & Welding
Luis came to us in 2017 from ornamental iron work, and that background shows the moment you see one of his hinge jigs. He handles full gate installations, post setting, and most of the structural repair welding we do across Mesquite, Forney, and Seagoville. A certified welder in both MIG and stick, Luis can splice a rusted bottom rail on a decorative driveway gate and grind it back so the patch line disappears. He’s the one who insists on shimming a post three times before he pours, even when the old hole looked fine when he started digging. Luis coaches youth soccer on Saturday mornings in Garland. When you see him hold a gate leaf up with one shoulder while he marks the striker plate, that’s not gym strength. That’s eleven-year-olds climbing on him after every goal.
Jenna C. – Service Coordinator, Mesquite Dispatch
Jenna is the person on the phone when you call Vance Gate Repair Mesquite at (469) 916-7097. She’s been answering since 2018, and she does it live – every call, no voicemail loop, no call center. Before joining the team, Jenna ran scheduling for a commercial HVAC company in Plano, which means she’s heard every variation of “my equipment is making a sound” in the English language. She asks three questions when you call with a gate issue: the brand if you know it, the symptom, whether the gate still moves at all or if it’s dead. Then she gives you a name and a window, not a callback number. Her desk has a worn spot where she puts her coffee mug, and yes, she knows the note on the job ticket from three years ago about your gate’s photo-eye alignment just from your address.
Devon T. – Apprentice Technician
Devon started with us in early 2023 as a helper and has already run his first solo diagnostics under Marcus’s review. He came from residential framing, so his first month was unlearning the habit of reaching for an impact driver to solve every problem. Now he’s with Marcus on motor jobs or Luis on installs, picking up brand quirks the hard way – the BFT harness that’s one connector short of colored-coded, the Ghost Controls receiver board that likes to lose its remote memory after a power sag. Devon is currently studying for his low-voltage certification, and he’s got the kind of patience it takes to sit inside a hot gate operator housing with a multimeter and not chase the wrong wire. He rides a mountain bike to work most days and parks it inside the shop next to Luis’s welding cart. Somebody moved it once. We still hear about it.
One Standard, Every Job
Every service call and every installation out of the Mesquite shop runs under the Haven Standard, and that’s not a marketing phrase around here.
